About this Website
I wanted to create this website, both to give me some experience doing more programming with PHP and databases, but also because I thought it would be fun to have a handy place to look up stats from Christopher Odd's XCOM 2: War of the Chosen YouTube series at a glance.
For season 6, Stats are being counted thus:
- Shots - The following are my definitions for what counts as shots in Season 6:
- Any gun shot or melee attack taken at an enemy or toward an object meant to harm an enemy (e.g., a car or a claymore)
- Any psi skill that has a theoretical non-guaranteed chance to hit that does damage (e.g., insanity w/ schism)
- Things that do not count as shots include shots against objects not meant to harm enemies (e.g., Destroy the Device objectives or Chosen Psi-Capacitors) or any skill with a theoretical guaranteed chance to hit in all circumstances. (This excludes Rend as Rend can actually "miss" vs. certain enemy skills)
- Overwatch - Any shot as defined above that is a reaction action, including bladestorm, will be considered an overwatch shot.
- Damage/Kills - Damage and Kills will be allocated thusly:
- Any shot or melee skills that directly or indirectly damages enemies - including causing fall damage or cascading explosions - will be credited towards the attacker
- Grenade attacks, psi attacks that do damage, and GREMLIN attacks that do damage will also be credited towards the attacker
- Claymore damage will be credited towards the person who throws the Claymore. If another player triggers a Claymore by throwing a grenade on it, they will receive their own personal grenade's share of the damage/kills
- Status effect damage such as acid, fire, etc. will be credited towards the attacker that caused the enemy to receive that status effect. If an enemy dies from a status effect, that same player will receive kill credit
- No damage done to objects that is not meant to damage an enemy unit does not count.
MVP Calculations
I am also doing my own MVP calculations. While the mod in the game that awards MVP is cool, it can make some really wonky decisions. So I'm doing my own points based MVP calculations, with the following points system:
- Shots with a chance to hit of 81% or above: +0.5pts for a hit, -2pts for a miss
- Shots with between a 61% and 80% chance: +1pt for a hit, -1pt for a miss
- Shots with between a 41% and 60% chance: +1.5pts for hit, -0.5pt for a miss
- Shots with 40% chance to hit or lower: +2pts for a hit, no penalty for a miss
- There is no longer a different point system for overwatch shots. However, occasionally, the display bugs and does not properly show a percentage chance for overwatch shots. In this case, they will be treated like the 2nd category above (+1 for a hit, -1 for a miss) unless a reasonable inference can be made otherwise by other displayed shot percentages
- Damage: 1pt for every point of enemy damage, -2pts for every point of friendly fire damage
- Kills: 2pt for Lost kill, 10pts for ADVENT/Alien kill, 15pts for a "Big Boss" (Andromedon Prime, Gatekeepers, Sectopods) kill, 20pts for a Chosen or Alien Ruler kill
